Description
: When I first started at Elite, I was
given the task of converting a game that was already in progress on PC
to 3DO. This was a new spangly 3D football game. The 3DO version was
never completed; after about a years development, I had to take over
the Playstation version after the previous programmer left. By that
time, the 3DO console was looking like a bit of a flop, anyway.
Swapping between the Playstation and PC versions, the PC version was
finally released in the summer of '96. The Playstation version,
however, had to undergo the Sony submission funhouse, before finally
appearing in the shops just before Christmas '96. Curiously, in Spring
2002, I heard from a guy from a company publishing games for "classic"
gaming systems - see their website here.
I put him in touch with
Elite, and there was talk about the possible release of the 3DO version of Onside. And then it all went quiet again. |
