Processor

ARM250 or higher recommended. Should still run on an ARM 2, but may be a little slow. StrongARM compatible.

Memory

2Mb or higher.

RISC OS version

RISC OS 3.1 or higher. Has not been tried on anything less, but probably won't be too happy under RISC OS 2.

Screen mode

Defaults to standard mode 13, but on newer machines this mode becomes letterboxed. To solve this problem, the game will check for the availability of mode 49, standard on newer machines and available on older machines through an extension module. (GameModes?)

Joysticks

Supports up to four joysticks or joypads through any interface that provides Acorn's SWI Joystick_Read (&43F40).

Miscellaneous

I would recommend that you run Marsquake from a hard drive, though this is not required. The game can run from floppy, though obviously it'll be slower at loading data. You shouldn't have any problems running the game straight out of an archive. One thing to remember is that the game will attempt to save the current high scores, key setting and other choices when you quit the Marsquake application. These will be lost if it is unable to write to the application directory, eg. if you run Marsquake from a read-only archive.

Version 1.10 (and higher!?) use the !SerialDev block drivers, and have had several bugs fixed. The serial link option was tested successfully between a RiscPC 600 and a StrongARM Risc PC. It has now been tested successfully between a RiscPC 600 and an A3020, so hopefully the serial link should work on a much wider range of machines now.
